Thrift Inspiration,

One item that is forever in style is the classic boucle tweed knit Chanel jacket. Every year it is reworked into the style of the season, but where this is a classic, the shape generally is the same. This seasons jacket features three quarter sleeves, embellishment around the collar, cuffs and front fastening and is in the classic box style.

These jackets look equally good as part of a suit or with jeans, as seen below.

My find is from Summer last year and I've not worn or shown it, so I thought I would now. It is by Escada and I believe from the late 80s and was from the Cancer Research charity shop.

The photos don't do it justice, it really is a gorgeous wool jacket with lovely black and red sequin and pearl embellishment and three quarter sleeves.

This will go with jeans for a casual look or for a smarter look, then maybe a black pencil skirt and silk blouse or a silk tea dress

What unworn pieces will you be wearing this Spring and Summer?

Christina's parcel from yesterday contains my latest unworn outfits, I reckon the red dress will be making it's maiden voyage on Valentine's Day. xxx

Dear Sharon, that is lovely! It will look amazing with jeans or dressed up.

I'm ashamed to admit I've found too many unworn items in my wardrobe to mention but I will blog them. Have a lovely weekend. I have no plans which makes a change xx

That is a BEAUTIFUL jacket and I like the versatility you have planned for it.

I really like the style of the jackets you show here. I have a few waist-length jackets with slight flare from the shoulders. They're hidden SOMEwhere in my closet! I believe it's time for an airing.

That's a beautiful jacket, can't wait to see it with your Marc Jacobs dress! I still haven't worn some skinny cargos I bought a few months ago so I'm planning to wear those. Have a great weekend! xx

Wow on this find. Escada has fantastic pieces-- lucky and blessed you!

I guess I'll be pulling out loads of summer dresses (the bulk of my wardrobe) for spring/summer. And thin coats. Still learning to adjust to seasonal variations here.

Oo-er I found a really pretty Chanel style jacket by Jaeger in our local Oxfam shop for £6.99 a couple of days a go. But my (ex) best friend said it did nothing for me. So I reluctantly put it back. I'm mad as hell.!!!!

Wonderful! I've been forever looking for a tweed jacket like this. I made one myself from an 2nd hand tweed coat - but it certainly doesn't compare with yours.
